THE WEDDING OF A KING’S DAUGHTER
Maison St-Gabriel, historic site and museum
You are warmly invited to the wedding. The couple will unite on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. under the marquee of the Museum’s site, accompanied by their witnesses.
Put on your finest attire to attend the re-enactment of this historic wedding. The Groupe d'histoire vivante des Filles du Roy - Montréal/Montérégie recreates the event with costumed characters and explains the steps involved, from the publication of banns to the wedding ceremony.
Join the newlyweds as you learn historical dances with a Danse Cadence host, accompanied by musicians from the Ensemble Claude-Gervaise. A great way to discover the customs and traditions related to marriage at the time of New France.
