Découper le paysage

This exhibition project emerged from a residency call initiated by the L'Artothèque in 2023, with the aim of bringing part of its graphic art collection into dialogue with the work of visual artists and printmakers.

Upon discovering this collection, Ariane Valade embarked on both documentary and artistic research, selecting works whose patterns, textures, and printing techniques caught her attention for their technical complexity, composition, and aesthetic exploration.

This selection from the L'Artothèque collection is set in dialogue with the artist's own creative process, which integrates both printmaking and textile art.

The exhibition presents the artist's colorful and aesthetic universe while reflecting on the diversity of printmaking practices and techniques within an eco-responsible approach. The research and documentation process plays a significant role, highlighting the technical skills and craftsmanship that define both printmaking and textile arts.

This exhibition invites viewers to observe the details, intricacies, precision, and slowness of the artistic gesture, allowing for an exploration of Ariane Valade's artistic world.
